In our monthly Pulse you can find and download the trends in category sales across beer, wine, and spirits from the transactions of Drizly’s leading-indicator audience.
Highlights for May 2018: The decline of Beer is starting to slow, down 9% from last May as opposed to double digit decline over the last several months. Wine and Spirits are up 3% and 2%, respectively.
Standouts within each category include Rosé, up 24% over last year’s share and now responsible for 12.6% of wine, and Specialty Beer (sparkling waters, FMB’s, etc.), which is up 19% over last year, although off of a smaller base. Gin, down 6%, and Liqueurs, down 9%, are the only two subcategories within the Spirits that did not see substantial growth.
