In our monthly Pulse you can find and download the trends in category sales across beer, wine, and spirits from the transactions of Drizly’s leading-indicator audience.
Highlights for June 2018: The three major categories are flattening out this summer. Wine’s share of all alcohol sold on Drizly is up 3% YoY for the second straight month and Liquor is essentially flat. Beer, which for 12+ months was down double digits YoY, is starting to stabilize with market share declines in the single digits (8%) for the second month in a row.
Although Rosé’s share of wine hit its highest point ever at 15.6% of all wine sales, it’s only up 4.7% over last year. We’ll keep a close eye on that slowdown in growth. Specialty Beer’s share (sparkling waters, FMB’s, etc.) is up 22.8% over last June stealing most of it’s share from Craft, which is down 6.9% YoY. Tequila (+16.5%) and Brandy (+27.8%) continue to steal share from Gin (-7.5%) in the Liquor category.
