Highlights for July 2017: Wine grew in July at the expense of beer. Compared to July 2016, wine’s share is up 8%, liquor’s share was relatively flat, and beer’s share was down 13%.

Rosé is a continued source of growth propelling wine ahead as rosé has grown its share of wine 30% ahead of last year. Tequila (up 15% in liquor share vs. last July) has continued to grow through the summer just as and brandy (up 21%) also grew from a smaller base. Specialty beer has outpaced beer growth, up 26% from last year, driven by the success of hard seltzer products this summer.
